Brokkestøylen is a charming blockhut from the 50s. In charge since april 2007, is Hessel Haker from the Netherlands. Hessel has a background in forestry and nature conservation. But he also likes to cook and take care of his guests!
Much has happened over the past years. Brokkestøylen has been throroughly renovated with financial assistance of Brokke Aktivitet AS. Friends from central europe aided with shared sweat and enthousiasm. There came a verandah, a professional kitchen, water and electricity, toilet and shower, an island with a big teepee and much more!
Hessel started off cooking for groups upon advanced reservation, then opened the family farm with animals, child animation and a cafe. The campground has taken form and we now offer basic accomodation in a laptent and the barn. There have been established some fruitful contacts with continental travel organisations ordering activity packages and overnights here.
In the future, Hessel will keep up work on these founding pillars, making this an idyllic family centre, with animated children activities, animals and a choice of self-service activities. He also strives to establish Brokke as a climbing Mecca promoting the hundreds of bolted routes for family climbing in Germany and the Netherlands. Outside the summer season, Hessel hopes to offer activty packages for groups.
